Father God, I come to thee
My spirit low and meek
For in Your arms I know I'll find
The comfort that I seek
I thought I was invincible
And nothing could go wrong
For oftentimes I knelt and prayed
And my faith was very strong
I went to church, I fed the poor
It seemed that was enough
But with the devil on my heels
Things were mighty rough
Still I felt I could do it all
I didn't need a thing
But Father God, I didn't know
The heartache that would bring
The very people that I loved
Dug a pit for me
Because I am a simple man
The trap I didn't see
Now many nights I lie awake
The pain deep within my soul
I'm not the person I used to be
For all my peace they stole
Lord, I'm tired and I'm weary
I can't make it on my own
The devil's too close behind me
And I can't fight him alone
To find a little comfort, Lord
I read the Book of Psalms
And every chapter I come upon
Leads me straight into Your arms
So here I am, dear Jesus
Broken from the miles I've trod
I know I would have lost my way
But for Your grace, oh GOD

Hey Damian, I wouldn't say we were mates, We came into contact many many times whilst out clubbing in manchester back in the days (mid 1990's).... you were always dancing and having fun and I still remember your smile. My heart felt warmth and love go out to your family.... I have just shed a tear or two at the loss of what I remember as such a spirited guy....what a sad sad loss! god bless mista.
